Teresa was a good friend to me when I was younger. She was a doctor, a wife, a mother, a yuppie – practically perfect in every way. She attended the Sunday School class I taught at the time. She was there weekly, Bible in hand. I asked her once why her children didn’t come with her.
Her response: “I don’t want to pressure them into coming to church. They can decide for themselves about God when they become adults”
However.......she sent those kids to soccer camps, basketball camps, piano lessons, math camps, mock trial events, and horse riding lessons. Those couldn’t wait until they became adults, because the training had to be there when they were young.
See any conflict in that logic? Me, too.
