Advent and Christmas at FCC
Imagine this December, before the busyness of the season overwhelms your best intentions, you make the intention to weave pauses into your daily life. Our Advent practices and worship services are designed to help you create moments for reflection and spiritual exploration.
When something hits close to home, it affects us deeply. During the four weeks of Advent and the Christmas season, we will journey through scriptures and rituals that are tender, heavy with emotion, and vulnerable. We carry the memories and truths of this season close to our hearts.
Our worship acknowledges the “already but not yet” tension of the Christian faith: Emmanuel is with us, and yet...and yet, God’s promised realm—a home of peace and justice—is not fully realized. Advent gives voice to our deep longing for God to come close to us.
Worship for Advent 2
,"And you are enough, already enough.
You haven’t done anything yet.
You’ve just been here,
and already, you are enough.'"

Each day of the Advent season the photo-a-day devotion below offers one word for focus and reflection. As you go throughout your day, you may see something that reminds you of the word, or something that evokes a response to it.
Snap a photo with your smart phone and upload the photo to your favorite social media platform with the hashtags #advent2021, #closetohome and #FCCMKY. Together we can create an online Advent devotional of photos and reflections.
Each week we'll watch the film on own time and then join a Zoom conversation on Sunday night.
